Why Do Students Still Plagiarize? Perceptions of EFL and Non-EFL Students on Plagiarism

This paper is an investigation on the perception of Kurdish EFL and non-EFL students plagiarism, as well causes that make resort to it. A group participated in research who were enrolled different departments at one universities Kurdistan region Iraq. The data was collected through a questionnaire followed by interviews get better understanding phenomenon question. findings current study show there misconception about idea plagiarism mostly consider copying pasting material plagiarism. led paraphrasing does not really constitute shows issue limited stealing words ideas most cases. results also are number other factors lead including lack time, concept, language skills, high school education background, workload critical thinking skills.
